Humber College announced on Wednesday that “community gatherings” will be held on Thursday morning at its North and Lakeshore Campuses in support of those impacted by the crash of Flight PS752 in Iran earlier this month that caused the death of 63 Canadians, including many students.
The college confirmed to The Avro Post last week that there were no Humber ties among the 176 who died when the plane crashed outside Tehran. Though it initially denied any action, Iran said it launched a projectile at the Ukrainian International Airlines flight that caused the Boeing airliner to crash, killing all on board.
“These events will be hosted jointly by Humber College and IGNITE,” the college says on its event page.
“They will provide the opportunity to come together, to grieve, to reflect, to support one another, and to acknowledge the individuals who died in the crash. All are welcome to attend.”
The gatherings will start at 11 a.m. in North’s CTI Building 108 and Lakeshore’s K Building.
