The Canadian movie theatre company, Cineplex, will unveil the Junxion, a brand new theatre-going experience that combines movies, live entertainment, VR arcades and restaurants.
With box office numbers consistently fluctuating, the Canadian movie theatre company, Cineplex, has unveiled their plans to transform an existing Toronto theatre (the Erin Mills Cineplex) into a brand new theatre experience known as Junxion.
Some Cineplex locations across the country offer the VIP experience which has the in-seat service as well as restaurant, and most locations are equipped with an arcade.
What Cineplex aims to do now is enhance that experience even further. The Erin Mills Centre Cineplex will be renovated by late 2020 to include six theatre screens, a VR arcade, beer and wine bars, indoor food trucks, the signature Cineplex restaurants as well as stages for live entertainment.
Cineplex CEO Ellis Jacobs said in a statement, “As Canada’s entertainment landscape continues to evolve, we are proudly introducing this state-of-the-art community hub where families and friends can come together to play, dine, unwind and have fun”.
Cineplex will also partner with the U.S. company, Topgolf, to bring golf driving ranges and other games to the theatres. Cineplex also currently runs several VR arcades across Canada called The Rec Room, which feature high-end VR games and experiences.
Cineplex’s Junxion experience is expected to open in late 2020 here in Toronto.
