Reading week in the 6ix: Oct. 14

Our Reading week in the 6ix series is back: Take a look at the top events and activities to do this Monday, Oct. 14.

Please note Monday, Oct. 14 is Thanksgiving and the following places are closed: all LCBO stores, most government offices, most grocery stores and Canada’s Wonderland.

The TTC will operate on a holiday schedule and GO Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule.

It is only reading week for the University of Guelph-Humber.

Toronto Pumpkinfest

Come out and celebrate all things pumpkin at the Toronto Pumpkinfest at Downsview Park! There will be games for all ages such as pumpkin carving and pumpkin bowling. Many other activities will be taking place and Toronto’s best food trucks will also be there.

Time: 10:00 a.m – 6:00 p.m.

Be a Toronto Tourist for the day

Though many places of business will be closed on Thanksgiving Monday, the main tourist sites in Toronto won’t be! Take a stroll underwater at the Ripley’s Aquarium or go up 147 floors at the CN Tower.

Take a stroll through High Park

Spaning over 165 hectares, Toronto High Park is a great place to have a picnic, stroll through the changing fall coloured trees and get some great pictures as well.

Get Spooked at The Legends of Horror

The Legends of Horror at Casa Loma is an annual event that features an hour-long walkthrough of the castle. This experience features frightful actors that will be sure to scare you.

Time: events start from 7:00 p.m until 10:00 p.m.

Location: 1 Austin Terrace

Price: $40 online $45 at the door
