The location for Wednesday evening’s IGNITE Board of Directors meeting was not posted on the Governance page ahead of time and it was not held where it was previously at Humber College North Campus.
When directors meet at North Campus they gather in a boardroom on the sixth floor of the Learning Resource Commons, based on previous meetings Post journalists have been at. Meetings have in the past started at 6 p.m.
However, none of the directors appeared on the sixth floor between 5:05 p.m. and 6:05 p.m., a time period that four Post reporters spent near the elevators monitoring for their arrival.
It is unclear where the meeting took place, or if it took place at all. The Governance page only lists the meeting as taking place on Oct. 9 at North Campus.
During a press briefing last Friday, IGNITE officials revealed a new, more corporate direction for the student union and said that, due to the sensitive nature of the business of the Board, no student journalists would be allowed in.
